St. John Chrysostom & Financial Wisdom

Discussions around money can be difficult, especially in Church settings. This course will provide an opportunity to reflect on how your life in Christ is impacted by your relationship to money and possessions. As our primary text, we will be studying the homilies of St. John Chrysostom regarding Lazarus and the Rich Man (Luke 16: 19-31 – On Wealth and Poverty, SVS Press).

In addition, we will be learning how to practically apply what our theology teaches, so that we can implement it in our lives. We will be doing this by building a framework for students to establish healthy habits related to money including: budgeting, debt management, saving, investing and more.

Objectives
Be transformed by the preaching of St. John Chrysostom and develop a deeper awareness of generosity. Discuss the principles of Stewardship, Contentment and Financial Wisdom. Develop healthy financial habits and learn about the financial traps that exist in our world.

Using Wi-Fi may work, but will not guarantee you the optimal use of your bandwidth. The faster your Internet, the better. We recommend using a connection with an download/upload speed of 5/1Mbps or better. You can test your Internet connection here.
